I hate leaving bad reviews, but I can’t recommend this shoe to anyone. I’m an old man, and when I was a kid, Florsheim was a well respected shoe company. When I saw this shoe in the lineup, I was all “Hey, this must be a pretty good shoe, the company has been in business forever in a very competitive market.” My regular shoe is a $18 Kirkland from Costco, so I was pretty pumped to order ‘real’ shoes.
These were the most uncomfortable things I’ve had on my feet – ever. The uppers are so stiff they caused bruising on my ankles. The soles so stiff I ‘flop walked’ like if I had swim fins on.
Some people said “Maybe they need a break in period.” They were advertised as work shoes. I work 12 hours a day. When am I supposed to break them in?
Florsheim shoe company, I’m sorry to leave such a bad review, but these are bad shoes.

The shoes fit OK, but the soles were excessively stiff and they will be uncomfortable to wear for extended periods.

Good looking pair of shoes. But I found the toe box to be uncomfortable. Right where the safety toe transitions on the sides. Was rubbing. I returned them.

I have had these shoes for a couple of years, and really hated them at first because they are stiff. Now, they are still stiff, but I feel VERY well supported. My feet are flat, wide and very hard to fit. I wear aftermarket insoles, so I have no comment as for the arch support. When lifting, working, standing all day, my feet are certainly tired, but my ankles are good and feet are not achy like when I wear “street shoes”. These are essentially medium duty boots, just styled like a shoe. Florsheim is known for their dress shoes, which I have enjoyed in the past, but these shoes have only the name and quality in common, otherwise very different kind of shoes. I have HD steel toed boots that are heavy and fugly. These shoes give me 85% of the protection and support of the boots, but in a shoe that doesn’t look too harsh, and is much lighter. This is NOT a comfy walking shoe; this shoe is terrific for doing light to medium duty work, like factory floor, service tech, electronics (static protection through the sole), in shop or trim carpentry, that kind of stuff. I have never had any other shoe that had a solid work boot hidden inside, so I have no other recommendations.
